The Wedding will take place at 975 Thistle Rd, Hood River, OR. Parking will be in a road side field.

Wedding Reception

The Reception will take place at Hood River Hotel. Parking downtown can be a hassle, but street parking should be possible after 6 pm for free. Sunday parking is also free.

We have a room block at the Hood River Hotel. Please give them our names when booking to get a discounted rate as well as the ability to book for only the 19th and 20th (they typically require a 3-night stay).

Our Story

Esther and Blake met in June 2013. She lived in Massachusetts and he lived in Oklahoma, and the distance proved too much. In January 2016, Esther and Blake both found themselves in the state of Washington. They reconnected, and proceeded to go on many adventures together. They ended up in Hood River, Oregon, where they decided to settle, so they bought a house. On April 19th, 2019, Blake asked Esther to marry him. She said "of course", and Callie seemed to approve...

  • First We Meet

    June 15, 2013

    In Esther's home town of Beloit, KS, Blake met Esther. Esther's sister, Eva, and Blake's high school friend, Ayinde, were the key to Esther and Blake meeting. Blake drove to Beloit to see Ayinde, and found Esther.

  • First Date

    January 22, 2016

    Esther and Blake both found their way to the state of Washington. Eva and Ayinde had brought them together again. Blake nervously asked Esther on a date, and in Tacoma, WA they would have their first of many dates.

    After a few dates, Blake worked up the courage to ask Esther if she would be his girlfriend. Sadly, she would say no. But one week later, Blake was surprised to have Esther request that he ask again...

  • Engagement

    April 19, 2019

    Blake had been planning to propose to Esther for a long time at this point. He picked a spot in the Columbia River Gorge to propose. He told Esther it was "date night", then led her up a short trail where his friend, Bert was hiding to take pictures. Esther immediately spotted Bert, but she did not know it was Bert. Blake dismissed her concern and proceeded to propose. Esther said, "of course", and they proceeded back to the house where there was a surprise engagement party.
